Naturopathic Care

Dr. Amy Henehan ND.

Dr. Henehan's interest in practicing medicine was first sparked as a teenager when her own health issues brought her to seek Naturopathic care. Her passion grew as she continued to witness firsthand the healing that Naturopathic Medicine offers, and she walked away from the experience with a new life goal – to become a Naturopathic Doctor in order to empower others with the knowledge necessary to gain control over their own long-term wellness.

Dr. Henehan believes in patient-centred, sustainable health care, and aims to provide a safe and positive environment where patients are encouraged to ask questions and voice their preferences. There is no 'one size fits all' prescription for health, but there are evidence-based tools and treatments that are important to discuss! Dr. Henehan considers it an honour to work in collaboration with each patient to come up with realistic health goals and treatment plans, and she relies on the tenets of honesty, transparency and respect to help build meaningful patient-doctor relationships in her practice.

Dr. Henehan has been part of the team at Mandzak Chiropractic & Health Centre since 2018. When not working on treatment plans or upgrading her knowledge and skills, she is likely to be found in the company of her daughters, enjoying the simple things in life!

Dr. Henehan is a Naturopathic Doctor registered in good standing with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario. Following her graduation from York University, Dr. Henehan completed her four year Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto. This rigorous program includes in-depth training in each of the naturopathic treatment modalities, as well as a core foundation of pathology, anatomy, microbiology, immunology, biochemistry, and public health.

As part of her clinical education she completed a year-long rotation at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic, the largest teaching clinic of its kind in North America. During her internship she was fortunate to spend a term at Lakeshore Area Multi-services Project (LAMP) Community Health Centre providing allied health care to underserved populations in collaboration with a variety of other specialized health practitioners.

Dr. Henehan supports an evidence-based, integrative model for health care and is happy to collaborate with a variety of practitioners to help you meet your health goals.  She is consistently updating her skill sets through continuing education in order to better serve her community. She is a member in good standing of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors and Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors.

In addition to naturopathic consultation, in office procedures such as physical exams, blood pressure checks, acupuncture, and cupping therapy, and additional lab testing* (e.g. routine bloodwork, nutrient and hormone evaluation, comprehensive stool analysis), are available.
